A day in Ayutthaya
My friend and her daughter took me to see the ruins of Ayutthaya. There are so many, it shows what a big city it was. On the way to Ayutthaya we stopped for lunch at a nice local restaurant by the river. seating was unique as we sat on the floor and let our legs dangle to the emptiness under.
On the way to the city, we topped at floating city to shop. I had an incredible tasting local treat. the market also put on a little show
We went to one of the several ruins of Ayutthaya. the city was very large, and as time has past, the new city grew up around the ruins. a tuktuk tour will take about 3 hours total. It was very hot so I suggested we do the tour another day. The ruins show some of how beautiful the city must have been.
After a day in exploring we stopped at a huge buffet on the river. A fun place with great food, and plenty of it! The staff put two charcoal cookers on the table, you went around, selected your food and cooked it. There was a local band playing. The atmosphere was relaxed and fun.
