I had spent the night at a Portland rest area. they had planted trees representing each state. In the morning, I headed straight down I-5. I stayed at a rest area just above lake Shasta and then to my brothers up above Chico. The area 1 used to be very beautiful. Tall evergreens trees everywhere. The 2018 fires burned it all out. It&#8217;s so different now. You can see for miles, you can hear everything. A few trees here and there. The brush is growing back. The oaks are growing back.
